GOEBBELS’ WEDDING DAY when the German Nazi politician and Reich Minister of Propaganda, Paul Joseph Goebbels got married

GOEBBELS’ WEDDING DAY

This wedding photo was taken on December 19th, 1931, when the German Nazi politician and Reich Minister of Propaganda, Paul Joseph Goebbels got married.  In the photo you can even see Adolf Hitler, who acted as best-man on the day.  Hitler was very close to both the bride and groom.  Goebbels was one of Hitler’s most devoted followers, and his bride, Magda met her future husband at a Nazi Party meeting.  Interestingly, many historians refer to Magda as the first lady of the Third Reich.  It’s believed that since Hitler intended to remain unmarried, Magda Goebbels would act as first lady, others credit Emmy Göring with this title.  Now as you imagine the Goebbels’ marriage didn’t end too well.  When the Red Army reached Berlin at the end of the war the couple fatally poisoned their six children before committing suicide.
