Mel Blanc, the voice of Bugs Bunny, was in a serious car accident that put him in a coma. After many unsuccessful attempts to get him to talk, the doctor asked, "Bugs, can you hear me?" Mel responded in Bugs voice: "Whats up Doc?" They used this technique to lead him out of his coma. Mel Blanc, known as "The Man of a Thousand Voices," tells a story about persistence. He became a well known voice actor, comedian, and radio personality who provided the voices for iconic cartoon characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Porky Pig during the Golden Age of American animation. Born in San Francisco on May 30, 1908, he began his career in radio before transitioning to voice acting in animation, ultimately voicing over 400 characters in more than 3,000 animated cartoons. Blanc passed away on July 10, 1989, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of animation and voice acting.

Aleksander Doba kayaked solo across the Atlantic Ocean (5400 km, under his own power) three times, most recently in 2017 at age of 70. He died in 2021 while climbing Kilimanjaro. After reaching top asked for a two-minute break before posing for photo. He then sat down on a rock and "just fell asleep". Aleksander Doba was a Polish kayaker known primarily for his long voyages crossing oceans. In 2010 and again in 2013 he kayaked across the Atlantic Ocean westward under his own power. The two voyages were the longest open-water kayak voyages ever made. He was named 2015 Adventurer of the Year by National Geographic. In 2017 he completed an eastward kayaking trip across the Atlantic. He died while climbing Kilimanjaro after reaching the mountain summit.

China executed two milk producers on Tuesday for selling more than three million pounds of contaminated milk products in connection with a food-safety scandal that killed six infants, shocking the country last year   In 2008, a Chinese milk company intentionally tainted baby formula powder so they could pass quality control tests. At least six infants died and hundreds of thousands more got sick. This is milk producer and trader Geng Jinping begging for forgiveness during his trial. He was executed in 2009. Nineteen others have been jailed in connection with the case, which involved deliberately contaminating milk with melamine, a chemical used in manufacturing plastics and fertilisers. It resulted in product recalls around the world and caused outrage in China, particularly when details of a cover-up emerged. Seven horses of the Queen's Household Cavalry lie dead after the IRA detonated a nail bomb, 1982 Th aftermath of the Hyde Park bombing which killed four soldiers, 1982. The Hyde Park and Regent’s Park bombings were one of the worst IRA atrocities on the British mainland, killing 11 soldiers and seven horses and leaving dozens injured. The bombs were detonated just a couple of hours apart on July 20, 1982, and timed to cause maximum casualties. The military casualties were quickly removed. But long-range camera lenses captured, in dreadful detail, the aftermath with the shattered remains of the car bomb surrounded by dead horses. Part of the power of the image is that it shows how indiscriminate the attack was. The soldiers were in general the primary target, but the terrorists were willing to accept whatever collateral damage came with them – including these horses. The last image of Maura Murray, who disappeared in New Hampshire in 2004 after draining her bank account at an ATM.  On the morning of the disappearance, Murray informed a nursing school faculty work supervisor via email that she would be away for a week due to a family death. Robert Gould Shaw, a distinguished American officer during the American Civil War, served in the Union Army and led the first all-black unit. Upon his death, Confederates did not return his body. Instead, they placed him in a mass grave alongside his men.  This act was intended as an insult for his leadership of black soldiers.  Nevertheless, his father openly expressed pride in the knowledge that his son had been buried alongside his troops. He stated: "We would not have his body removed from where it lies surrounded by his brave and devoted soldiers. ... We can imagine no holier place than that in which he lies, among his brave and devoted followers, nor wish for him better company. What a body-guard he has!" Robert Stroud was a sociopath and murderer who killed without compunction. He was so vicious he was sent to solitary confinement in Alcatraz prison where he was still able to kill a guard in the 1940s.  While in solitary Stroud captured small birds and studied them. He bred them and cared for them and began to write scientific monographs about them. He became a world-wide expert on avian life and behavior. He advanced avian science by decades and his work is still cited today. On February 22, 1942, a Japanese soldier on the Burma front during World War II fired all the bullets from his machine gun into Sam's intestines, liver and kidneys. Seeing him dying, his commander Major General Cowan immediately took off his Military Cross and placed it on his chest because the Military Cross was not given to a dead soldier. When Manekshaw was injured, orders were given that all the wounded should be left in the same position because if they were brought back, the speed of the retreating battalion would be slowed down. But his orderly Subedar Sher Singh carried him on his shoulder and brought him back. Sam's condition was so bad that the doctors did not consider it appropriate to waste their time on him. Then Subedar Sher Singh pointed his loaded rifle towards the Australian doctor and said, " We have carried our Saab on our shoulders while fighting the Japanese. We would not want him to die in front of us because you did not treat him."
